NYC MAGIC's Fall Tradeshow Trends of 2024
By: Most Wanted USA
If you’re a boutique buying accessories for the fall season or trying to predict next fall’s necessities based on this year’s trends, here is your starting point. Most Wanted USA is a MAGIC Tradeshow veteran, and this year, at MAGIC New York, we got enough belt booth orders to undoubtedly promise that this season, belts are all the rage. We’ve listed our bestsellers, to help you understand what other boutiques are looking for, what’s selling well in stores, and what your shoppers will be looking for next season based on the styles of today.
Chocolate Craze
Our new basic belt collection is out, but what we didn’t anticipate was our best selling belt of NYC MAGIC: the chocolate brown Style Squared Belt. This square buckle in deep gold on top of a chocolate brown colored leather band was a favorite, and we’re sure that deep brown tones are about to make a huge comeback in accessories for any simple fall look, like jeans and a sweater or a soft cotton dress.
The Silent Rebel
The OG Grunge belt. This western outlaw inspired style is one of our most loved, and we’re not the only ones. Undeniably one of our best sellers at NYC MAGIC was Style 5030, in black and silver. This style performs best in Brooklyn, and buyers who’ve had it once and are never able to stock their belts without it. NYC has always had some edge, but this kind of dark horse bestseller is a Most Wanted option that can add character to a softer outfit or only enhance a bolder one.
Return of the leopard
Everyone knows it. Wholesalers. Retailers. Designers. Leopard is back, and it’s being bought by boutique buyers everywhere in 2024. Arguably one of our most repeatedly bought belts was style 5068, a skinny light leopard printed belt with a small curved square buckle in light gold. A few buyers opted for this along with the thicker version with a circle buckle, but let’s get one thing straight. 2024 and 2025 trends point toward skinnier belts over thicker ones. Skinnier belt widths for more basic style belts or fun prints are in higher demand than thicker printed widths for their outfit versatility and minimalism. You’ll most likely see leopard in stores fully printed on shirts, skirts, and even boots, but what’s hottest is a leopard accessory, in belt form but surely in a bag.
Black and silver
What differentiated NYC MAGIC from MAGIC Vegas was buyers' choice of silver. Gold buckles were still the favorite of the show, but almost every buyer wanted to include a silver choice to their collection. Something simple, versatile, understated, but chic enough to add an enticing shape to their accessories. Every order included at least one new basic belt with a gold accent, and more than half of them included style 5254, the quiet curve belt in black and silver.
Sparkle is Our Favorite Color
Sparkle, Glitz, and glam, was a staple at NYC MAGIC. For more info on our best selling bags, all of which were dazzling rhinestone-embellished evening pieces, check our bag recap on Instagram. But if belts are what you're after, we can’t emphasize enough how popular Style 5231 in Brown and Black was. A simply shaped, shining buckle caught the eye of so many buyers and boutique shoppers. For the city scene, shoppers seem to be vying for a bit of glam to elevate their fall neutrals. And if you're based out of somewhere like Florida or the coast, unique colors like emerald green or magenta pink with matching rhinestones and a sparkling bag to match are good investments.
Fall Leather Best Sellers
Fall is officially here and while buyers can never go wrong with the basic best-sellers, which was a part of almost every buyer's order at our booth, they're looking for an accessory to match fall outfit trends, which consist of leather slouch bags for work and school use as well as printed outerwear. Every year and every show. Our tan and black leather styles like 5072 with a double circle buckle, or 5032 with a single circle buckle sell repeatedly at MAGIC, proving that dark leather to match outerwear and those viral slouch bags of the season are what’s selling in the foreseeable future.
chain accents
Chains galore. We offer plenty of hanging belts, conchos, and rhinestone or pearl woven waistchains. But chained chain belts are what you should be looking for in New York trends. Linkage, and edgy chain belts sold best from our waistchain rack, which are likely to be paired with sweater dresses, denim jeans, or even overalls. Our beselling chains was styles 5118, in gold and silver.
