Vegas MAGIC's Trade Show Trends of 2024

Wholesale. The hidden glamour of fashion, without which, so many fashion lovers and shopaholics would never find their go-to pieces. One of the biggest events of the year for wholesalers that makes that magic possible is, well, MAGIC. Moreover, the Las Vegas Trade Show under MAGIC Fashion Events is widely considered the biggest production and convention out of all 7 of their shows.

From an accessory company that knows firsthand, MAGIC Vegas is THE place to spot boutique buying trends and accessory favorites depending on wholesale clothing purchases. For this year’s August 2024 show, Most Wanted USA hopped on a plane to Vegas like we always do, and came back with vendor-verified hot takes on the wholesale trends in accessories that boutique buyers are unable to resist.

1) Western Mania

The cowgirl hats and numerous displays of genuine leather boots you see on MAGIC Vegas mannequins aren’t just an homage to the show’s location. The most consistent trend of 2024, and most likely 2025, is a western style comeback, and that includes accessories. We’ve been a western belt company since the day we began making genuine leather goods, and almost all the buyers at MW’s booth asked for true western, subtle western, or western inspired belts. Western bags were less in demand, and while leather bracelets with aztec designs are appreciated by our social media ambassadors, those sales paled in comparison to the western belts. Especially in the presence of designs like Style 5260, which has taken Instagram and even coastal boutiques by storm.

The studded adjustable circle belt, inspired by the West, has become the on-trend accessory of the spring/summer season, but buyers at the vegas show wanted even more for fall! They favored darker colored western accessories, with black or tan leather designs and brass accents. Buyers chose the widest statement version of this style, proving that statement western items are undeniably, most wanted. The black leather circle belt, in the biggest size we offer with silver accents, was surprisingly the top choice of most of our orders. And don’t forget about conchos! Whether it was a Fort Worth-based business, a North Carolina boutique, or a California buyer, concho chains, especially styles like 5154 with bold or cute designs, were in high demand. We may see less in fall when we’re all layering up, but items like these add “trendy” to any shop’s reputation and are predicted to make another comeback next summer.

2) Return of the Leopard

Everyone knows it. Wholesalers. Retailers. Designers. Leopard is back, and it’s being bought by boutique buyers everywhere in 2024. This Magic Vegas trend spans beyond accessories, and clothing companies had it stocked on every rack in the show. Arguably one of our most repeatedly bought belts was style 5068, a skinny light leopard printed belt with a small curved square buckle in light gold. A few buyers opted for this along with the thicker version with a circle buckle, but let’s get one thing straight. 2024 and 2025 trends point toward skinnier belts over thicker ones. Skinnier belt widths for more basic style belts or fun prints are in higher demand than thicker printed widths for their outfit versatility and minimalism. Boutiques want to say they're stylish without screaming it. You’ll most likely see leopard in stores fully printed on shirts, skirts, and even boots, but what’s hottest is a leopard accessory, in belt form but surely in a bag.

3) GOLD IS THE NEW BLACK

2024 was about gold over silver. If you’re a winter, don’t worry. Silver will always have a special place in accessory brands’ hearts, but a defining trend of the year were gold accents. Fashion brands were quickly selling out of gold chain handle bags, gold statement earrings, and gold buckles. Style 5250, a set of leather and gold chain accent belts sold best from our gold glam display, offering even basic belt-only buyers an opportunity to expand their stock with more experimental options for customers that prefer simpler styles. This set was a part of multiple orders along with styles 5235 and 5174. 5174 is heavyweight and what you should really be looking for in 2025 are lightweight gold accents, or subtle gold glam that makes a quieter, easily wearable statement. And while brass gold is always a best-seller for our brand, most boutiques at MAGIC Vegas are currently looking for a brass gold buckle or bag embellishment, and a bright light gold form of jewelry. Multiple visitors of our booth sought a lighter gold buckle or chain like 5250 to match necklace and earring sets they purchased elsewhere.

4) SUBTLE ASYMMETRY

If you don’t believe us, here’s proof. Our newest belt that performed best was our asymmetrical buckle belt, proving that gold is not only selling well at MAGIC, but that in the coming months, they’re willing to expand to new forms of gold. This deeper, yellow tone of gold was bought in style 5257 by many for its shape and color. The subtle asymmetry that doesn’t ask for attention but still carries a contemporary flair was another most wanted piece. We've found that this shape, in earrings and buckles, has a unique appeal, offering buyers the chance to appear up-to-date, trendy, and fashion forward. This belt was a hit at MAGIC Vegas and it’s meant for a clothing trend that the Vegas show had plenty of: relaxed workwear and soft corporate. The effortless cool of oversized blazers, a high waisted pant, or tailored joggers with a small statement buckle belt is going strong and you can expect more buyers to be searching for a sense of relaxed but trendy chic for a working women customer-base.

5) FALL LEATHER BEST-SELLERS

Fall is officially here and while buyers can never go wrong with the basic best-sellers, which was a part of almost every buyer's order at our booth, they're looking for an accessory to match fall outfit trends, which consist of leather slouch bags for work and school use as well as printed outerwear. Our tan and black leather styles like 5032 with a single circle buckle, 5256 with a single silver rectangle buckle, or 5160 for some fall boho character sold repeatedly at MAGIC Vegas, proving that dark leather to match outerwear and those viral slouch bags of the season are what’s selling in the foreseeable future.

We could go on about how this years' trade show featured an overwhelming amount of bubble skirts, y2k revival prints, athletic prep themed comfort wear, and more, but in short: its 2024, almost 2025, and accessories matter. If you’re a regular at Vegas MAGIC or you’re trying to keep your boutique on trend, make sure you’ve got your accessory stock headed in the right direction!
